A kind of last attempt to connect with the lost love. A fantasy of meeting, but “all of the others would find us.” The writer is trying to come to terms with the origin of the “troubles between you and me” and begins to move away from being stuck in the past, ultimately realizing there are “pleasures away from the harbor” (an homage reference to Phil Ochs’ album and song “Pleasures from the Harbor”).
