about

Binnie woke one morning with a word on her lips. QUIVER. She said it aloud, over and over. What did it mean? It had a very pleasant association. She went to the computer to write about it, and figure out what this pleasant QUIVER was all about. It became a song about differences amongst people (shy, confident, etc.), and about finding one’s place in things…”how much to weep and how much to worry” – There is room for everyone, and if you stay open to it, you will find your quiver. It is a celebration of difference and joy.

QUIVER
Lyrics by Binnie Klein, Music by Tartie

I've been told
That I’m sensitive
I’ve been told
That I shake
When news is good
When news is bad
Like the earth I quake

Some are fine
some are cool
read the room
can’t be fooled
Me? I don’t know where to sit
Or how to be
Nothing comes easily

But today upon my shaky bed
I settled into my silly head
And there it was – the quiver
All over me – the quiver
The resonance of night and day
Sweet love being
Given away
Things withheld and things spilling over
I begin to recover
And settle into
And settle into
And settle into

The quiver….

Keep your heart
All over your skin
Some just stay
All quiet within
some will wait
For trouble and sorrow
Stuck on today
Or scared of tomorrow

No one’s better
We balance the scales
You find your grounding over time
How much to weep
How much to worry
It takes a while

One day upon your shaky bed
You’ll settle into your silly head
And there it is – the quiver
All over you – the quiver
The resonance of night and day
Sweet love being
Given away
Things withheld and things spilling over
You’ll feel yourself begin to recover
And settle into
And settle into
And settle into……

Your quiver
